Podcasts are a great way for busy salespeople to squeeze in a little more into their day. I can’t count how many top sales pros I know who are constantly on the lookout for the latest beat on sales.
Thanks to the advancements in technology and the democratization of information, podcasts are now highly accessible. Whether in the gym, on your commute, or doing chores around the house, everyone is listening to podcasts.
However, there are also a slew of new podcasts popping up every week. I used to get the question, “What are your favorite sales books?” but more and more, I’m starting to get, “What are your favorite sales podcasts?”
In this post, that’s the exact question I’m going to answer. I’m a podcast junkie — I’ll admit that there’s less than an hours worth of music on my phone, and the rest is audiobooks or podcasts. Let’s dive into the top 10li podcasts for modern sales reps!
1) Stories From the Sales Floor |
Average Length: 25 minutes.
Hosts: Brandon Redlinger, PersistIQ; Ben Sardella, Datanyze
Published weekly
Story: 10
Performance: 10
Overall: 10
Yes, that’s right, we’re launching a podcast! We’ve teamed up with the sales experts at Datanyze to bring you a fresh, new take on sales and leadership. Ok, maybe I’m slightly biased in reviewing my own podcast, but here’s the lowdown. Rather than a traditional interview format, we’re trying something different. As the name suggests, we’re looking to tease out the best stories from modern sales leaders, like Max Altschuler, Jill Rowley, John Barrows, Mark Hunter Jeb Blount, Andy Paul, Steli Efti, Trish Bertuzzi and many, many more.
This backstage pass gives you access to stories and anecdotes never told before that will not only educate and inspire, but also entertain. You’ll hear their answers to questions like, “What’s your most embarrassing story?” and “What’s the most ridiculous objection you’ve ever heard?” and “Tell us the story of the bizarre place you’ve ever had to give a sales call.”
Most of our guests are from B2B and SaaS sales, so Stories From the Sales Floor is perfect for anyone in that space! We hope you enjoy, and please send me any feedback!

2) The Brutal Truth About Sales & Selling |
Host: Brian Burns, Author
Average Length: 30 minutes
Published every Sunday and Wednesday
Story: 8
Performance: 9
Overall: 8.5
Brian Burns is a no-nonesense, straight-to-the-point type of guy. His podcast dovetails perfectly with his books: The Maverick Selling Method, which was one of the early handful of books I read when I was beginning my career in sales, and Selling in a New Market Space. One of the most valuable things I think this podcast offers is a great analysis of selling methods. I’ve always been a proponent of focusing on processes and strategies before tools and tactics and Brian does just that. He examines all the new emerging processes and strategies in the sales space.
This podcast is perfect if you’re in B2B sales. Sales managers who are constantly looking at refining their team’s process and staying on top of methodologies will find value tuning in. This podcast is also good for sales reps who are looking to get that extra edge with practical methods for important daily activities, such as prospecting and closing deals.

Though it’s focused on B2B SaaS business, they have guests in other domains, such as travel and ecommerce business. 5) In the Arena Podcast |
Host; Anthony Iannarino, Speaker and Author
Average length: 30 mins
Published about one per month
Story: 8
Performance: 9
Overall: 8.5
TheSalesBlog.com is one of the top blogs for daily sales tips and motivation. Now, Anthony has taken his success from the blog and started a podcast of his own. What I really love about Anthony and his philosophy is he knows it’s not all about the hard skills. It’s not all about closing tactics and overcoming objections. He knows that to be successful in sales, it has as much to do with your mental and emotional states as much as anything else.
In the Arena is a great podcast not only for managers and leaders, but much of his content is widely applicable to the everyday rep, in the trenches on the sales floor.

6) The Advanced Selling Podcast |
Hosts: Bill Caskey, Speaker, Trainer and Author; Bryan Neale, Speaker, Trainer and Coach.
Average length: 15 mins
Published every Monday and Thursday
Story: 9
Performance: 9
Overall: 9
I’ve been listening to Bill and Bryan for a while now, so maybe I’m slightly biased here too. Or maybe they really are just that good. Bill and Bryan have the longest running sales podcast and built their audience to a strong following since 2009. And rightly so with their vast knowledge of the sales space. I’d call this one slightly more old school since Bill and Bryan have been in sales for 20+ years. When they started their careers, they didn’t have the technology we have today. But that’s not to say their advice isn’t relevant. In fact, their advice is evergreen, making it that much more valuable in today’s noisy sales space. Their highly successful Sales Leadership Academy continues to grow in popularity because they know how to deliver results.
This podcast is great for entrepreneurs as well managers and reps. Each episode is perfect bite-size morsels for salespeople to listen to on their commute into work.

7) Salesman Podcast |
Host: Will Barron, Salesman.Red
Average length: 40 mins
Published every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Story: 8.5
Performance: 9
Overall: 8.5
I came across Will back when his podcast and blog was just getting off the ground. In fact, he was pitching me; he was selling something to me. Having a good understanding of sales, I can pick out the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to pitches. Will was a pro. Soon after, his podcast fell off my radar simply because I got buried in work. Over the last few months, the Salesman Red podcast popped up on my radar a few more times, and I decided to subscribe. And now I’m a big fan.
Will has built a great audience by interviewing top performers across many disciplines, from psychologists and authors to professional athletes and sales leaders. What I love about the podcast is it has a wide appeal to many different audiences. It’s hard for me to say “it’s just for X type people.”

Donald is a true salesman in the B2B SaaS world. He has become so passionate about sales that he’s been dubbed “the sales evangelist.” This moniker clearly comes through in this podcast as Donald walks you through his journey in sales. You can’t listen to Donald and not become excited about sales. What I really love about him is he’s still on the front lines selling, so his stories and anecdotes are fresh and relevant. When he interviews his guests, which range from sales professionals to marketing experts, his genuine interest in the subject matter leads to great questions that uncover gems from guests.
This podcast is great for entrepreneurs and B2B salespeople, especially those getting started in sales.

10) Ramp |
Host: Cara Hogan, InsightSquared
Average length: 35 mins
Published bi-weekly
Story: 9
Performance: 9
Overall: 9.5
In true InsightSquared fashion, the Ramp podcast (formerly Million Dollar Insights) helps you take your business’ data and transform it into real, actionable information. When I was playing with the idea of creating a podcast, Cara offered some great advice on how to produce each episode and launch it. Ramp is one of my favorite podcasts because it’s very accessible and Cara is down to earth. She structures her episodes nicely so it’s easy to follow, but doesn’t script it out so much that it’s forced or contrived.
Ramp is perfect for the modern B2B SaaS sales professional who want to focus on running your business by the numbers.

- Trish Bertuzzi’s Road Map to Sales Success
